Why I am building NorminUp

At first, I just wanted a status page for my own projects. Here is why I am turning it into a real product.
I had not planned to build a service. In 2024, I just wanted a status page for my own projects: a place to say “all good” or “I’m on it”. The tools I tried were either too expensive for a side project or tedious to use. So I coded my own.
From a personal page to a real product
That small page has been running quietly ever since. Today, I am deciding to go further and turn it into a real product: NorminUp. A tool others can use to monitor their services and keep their users informed.
What I am trying to do
- Warn quickly: know a service is down before your users tell you.
- Inform simply: a clear status page your users understand at a glance.
- Stay affordable: a free plan that is actually useful, and paid plans that stay reasonable.
Who is behind it
It is me, Yann. I build NorminUp on my own: the code, the servers and the support. If something breaks, I fix it; if you have an idea, I read it.
It is the tool I want to use. I hope it helps you too.
